HIST 1030 HISTORY OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION I

A survey of the historical development of modern civilization from early times. Special attention given to cultural integration and diffusion, to institutions and ideas, and to the social construction of racial, ethnic, class and gender identities within diverse historical settings. Situates the western experience within its wider global historical context.
