ENV 3400 ENVIRONMENTAL OCEANOGRAPHY
The ocean's role in regulating climate and the interaction between the ocean, global change and society. Oceanographic records of change illustrate the natural variability of ocean circulation, sea-level, ocean acidification, organism migrations, invasions and mass extinctions through geologic time. Evidence of anthropogenic forcing and human impacts to the ocean (oil spills, dead zones, overfishing), future predictions, and potential solutions for society. Field trips are required.
