ACCT 5001 FIN ACCOUNTING & REPORTING I
This course is designed to provide students who wish to enroll in the MS in Accounting Program, but does not have any undergraduate accounting courses. The course will provide the students, in a compressed format, the principles of accounting. It will also present the basic financial statements required by generally accepted accounting principles. The course will also provide the students with an appreciation as to how the financial community analyzes some of these financial statements. This course is required of students who have not taken the basic principles of accounting I and II on an undergraduate basis. However, this course can be waived if the student can show comparable business or professional experience. This course is a prerequisite for ACCT 5002 for those students who have not taken intermediate accounting I and II courses as an undergraduate student. Credit for this course is not counted toward the 30 credit hour requirement for the MS in Accounting Degree Program.
