Program Description
The School of Nursing offers a Graduate Certificate in School Nursing which reflects contemporary School Nursing practice from the Whole School, Whole Community, and Whole Child perspective. Through the integration of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice, students are prepared for excellence and leadership in school nursing practice. The program prepares students to apply for certification with the New Jersey Department of Education.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the University’s admission requirements:
- Proof of valid NJ RN license
- Baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Presentation of evidence of having completed the following courses at an accredited four-year institution:
- NURS 3015 - Health Assessment
- NURS 4020 - Population Focused Nursing in the Community or NURS*3200 Professional Nursing Practice: HP Community
- PSY 3110 - Life-Span Developmental Psychology
- Professional Resume/CV
- TOEFL or IELTS scores (for applicants whose native language is not English). Exceptions can be made for students who have completed at least 6 credits of college level English courses from a U.S. institution, or who have submitted satisfactory SAT or ACT exam scores.
