Program Description
The Graduate Certification Program in Teaching English as a Second Language Option for Professional Educators is designed to prepare practicing teachers to develop an understanding of how first and second languages are learned, and to acquire strategies to assist English language learners in achieving proficiency in a variety of ESL/EFL settings.
Degree Requirements
Completion of one of the following "Language/Cultural Learning Opportunities":
- Work or live in a setting where languages other than English are spoken
- One course (3-credits) in a foreign language
- Passing scores on OPI/WPT target language test (a language other than English)
