ANTH 3850 egyptian hieroglyphs

Introductory course in the Egyptian hieroglyphic writing system, its evolution, and its cultural significance. An intensive anthropological study of the transmission of culture through the hieroglyphic writing of Egypt. Major emphasis placed on the deciphering and interpreting of hieroglyphis. Prerequisites: Anthropology 1800 - (Cultural Anthropology) or permission of the Instructor.
