PSYD 6100 PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY 3A-CONDUCTING RESEARCH IN SCHOOL SETTINGS

This first course of a two-course sequence focuses on research, evidence-based professional practices and the transition from externship training to professional school psychologist. Special attention will be paid to the use of data-based observations and measurement and the development of a professional development workshop to assess the specific effects that externs/candidates have on the students they serve in school settings. Candidates will acquire additional knowledge and skills related to the application of laws and ethics with the clients they serve in school settings (e.g., students, families, teachers, other educational professionals). In addition, candidates will acquire knowledge and skills related to the operation of school systems and special education practices in real school settings. Required for all Professional Diploma School Psychology students. Specialist. Required for all Professional Diploma School Psychology students.
