GD 3031 GRAPHIC DESIGN SURVEY
Lecture course examining the media used in graphic design and advertising. Graphic Design Survey is a broad examination of the visual communications field as it relates to the professional graphic design practitioner. It will examine and explore the studio/agency environment, the client/designer relationship, and the economic role of the designer in the context of traditional and new media visual communications. Through a sequence of class discussion, lectures, presentations by guest speakers, and off-campus visits students will investigate the field of design in relation to business, marketing, and commerce while observing contemporary trends and developments. Laptop required. Attendance at the Thinking Creatively Conference and field trips required. Required for all BFA in Graphic Design. Writing Emphasis Prerequisite(s): DSN*1100;
