SW 5502 INTEGRATIVE SEMINAR II

Integrative Seminar II is the second part of the Integrative Seminar sequence. It provides students with opportunities to further examine the relevance and application of generalist social work concepts to practice situations using their respective field work experiences. The focus is on understanding the risks and opportunities involved for intervention at mezzo and macro levels of functioning. Students will share and analyze experiences in their field placement in the context of applied knowledge that was gained in other social work classes. Expectations include increasing autonomy in the use of the problem-solving model and increasing knowledge about diverse populations as well as issues related to social justice. Students will be expected to demonstrate their usage of advocacy, brokering and case management at all levels of practice.
