INDEPENT RESEARCH IN EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE IN SCHOOL NURSING Course Number: NURS 5911 Semester Hours: 1 Prerequisite: New Jersey School Nursing Certificate Co-Requisites: Nurs 5910 Open to school of nursing majors who have completed all the foundation courses and core school nurse courses and hold certification as a school nurse and teacher of health from the State of New Jersey. Limitations on enrollment: 10 Students Required for MSN: Option School Nursing (Track B) CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Designed exclusively to accompany the five-credit course NURS 5910 in order to further investigate current school nursing research and evidence-based practice protocols in school nursing and to disseminate this knowledge. The course will enable students to make judgments about the value of current school nursing practice protocols and show self-reliance when working independently. Scholarly outcomes will emphasize creativity based upon highly developed research skills. This is a web-assisted course.
