Academic Advisement
The University views academic advisement as an important aspect of the academic experience. Students may receive individual advisement as follows:
New freshmen will have their initial and first semester advisement and registration coordinated through the School of General Studies (SGS) as part of their Transition to Kean (T2K) experience. For more information call 908-737-0300 (CAS) or 908-737-0330 (SGS).
Starting with the second semester, all matriculated students must seek advisement through their major Department or School.
New transfer, second baccalaureate degree and readmitted students are directed to seek advisement through their major Department or School.
Kean Ocean new transfer, second baccalaureate and readmit students should contact the Kean Ocean Administrative Office, Gateway 103, 732-255-0356 for assistance in scheduling a new student registration appointment. After their first semester, Kean Ocean students will have an assigned faculty advisor in their major.
Undecided/Undeclared Majors - Students who are neither officially intended nor declared with an academic major are considered undecided, and are advised by faculty and staff most appropriate for their academic interest
