Tutoring Services provides academic support to help Kean’s socially, linguistically, and culturally diverse student population to reach their full potential. Services enable Kean students with varying background experiences and levels of academic preparation to gain mastery and achieve excellence in their subject matter across multiple disciplines. The primary focus is to provide tutoring across the curriculum, with an emphasis on those courses for which help is most often requested (e.g., math, science, and business courses) based upon the foundational General Education courses. Students at all skill levels are encouraged to use tutoring in order to maximize their academic performance.

Tutoring is available by appointment and on a drop-in basis. Tutoring sessions are one to one and/or in groups. Tutoring is offered in a wide range of undergraduate courses, with an emphasis on those areas in which students most often experience difficulty, from introductory through senior-level courses. Tutorial activities are adapted and related to course content and objectives, so as to serve as an extension and elaboration of classroom instruction. Tutoring also works closely with programs such as Disability Services, the Spanish Speaking Program, and English as a Second Language to assist students with specialized needs.

Kean Ocean students can receive some tutoring services in the Gateway Building, as well as additional assistance through the OCC Writing and Tutoring Centers. For additional information on how to access these services, please contact the Kean Ocean Administrative Office, Gateway 103, 732-255-0356.
