Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Utilize a broad repertoire of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies in early childhood and special education.
- Explain the major concepts of positive behavioral supports and classroom management strategies.
- Explain Project Based Learning and how it integrates with the developmentally appropriate (DAP) content curricula.
- Integrate early childhood theories, curriculums, and philosophies into classroom practice.
- Utilize trauma-informed classroom practices.
- Research current trends and issues with early childhood education.
- Design an advocacy project to support young children.

Assessment Strategy Narrative
A variety of formative and summative assessments will be used to assess the student learning outcomes for this course. Additionally, at the end of the program, students will complete a National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) exam in the area of Early Childhood Education to meet program learning outcomes.
