This course provides a study of developmentally appropriate health, safety, and nutritional practices and teaching strategies in group settings for children birth through age 8. Students are required to complete and pass a background check.

Assessment: Students will plan, investigate and produce a policy and portfolio of teaching strategies and environments for healthy children in group settings. Student will reflect through discussions, essays and written assessments.
Assessment: Students will plan and design curriculum and environments which balance safety, risk and persistence through daily lesson plans, brochures and presentations. Students will reflect through discussion and written presentations.
Assessment: Students will plan an investigation of nutritious eating at each developmental stage through menus, portfolio of supportive teaching strategies and observations in the lab school classrooms. Students will reflect through discussions and written presentations.
