III. Catalog Course Description
This course provides both relevant instructional and clinical learning experiences for students in providing care for adults with complex medical/surgical health problems associated with the body systems covered in this course. The Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing II course covers adults with complex medical/surgical health problems of the remaining body systems.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- 1. Provide nursing care that protects clients experiencing complex medical/surgical health problems and health care personnel (Management of Care)
- 2. Provide nursing care that protects clients experiencing complex medical/surgical health problems and health care personnel from environmental hazards (Safety & Infection Control)
- 3. Provide nursing care that incorporates the knowledge of expected growth and development principles, prevention and/or early detection of health problems, and strategies to achieve optimal health for clients experiencing complex medical/surgical health problems (Health Promotion & Maintenance)
