EARC 222 Intro Teachng Children's Literature
This course is a review of children's literature and the role of literacy in the development of the young child. This course meets the requirements of preparation for the ICLA Standard II, Reading comprehension Research and Best Practices, with the study of comprehension instructional strategies such as QRA. Reciprocal Questioning, KWL charts and more. Students participate in book reviews and lesson plans, and they learn to identify characteristics of quality books and to identify strategies for engaging students in reading. This course will cover ICTS standards 1, 4, and 10.
