CHE-141 General Chemistry I
An exploration of the field of chemistry designed for all natural science majors. Emphasis is placed on atomic and molecular structure, chemical periodicity, stoichiometry, properties of matter, and thermochemistry. Three hours of lecture weekly. This course is generally not suitable for non-science majors unless they have credit for CHE-140 or high school chemistry or a combination of high school algebra and a physical science.
Prerequisite
MAT-101 or
MAT-102 or placement at
MAT-125 (or higher) must be completed prior to taking this course.
Corequisite
CHE-141L must be taken concurrently with this course.
