Teaching English as a Second Language Minor

20 credits (Total does not include prerequisite courses)

Minor Requirements

EDU-430	Teaching in a Diverse Society	3 credits
EDU-444	Second Language Acquisition Theory and Practice	3 credits
EDU-445	Foreign Language, Esl and Bilingual Methods	3 credits
EDU-446	Linguistics for Language Teachers	3 credits
EDU-447	Foundations/Bilingual Ed/ESL	3 credits
EDU-	Field Experience in ESL Setting
SPA,FRE,or other MFL offering-	Modern Foreign Language

This minor is designed for students who are pursuing elementary or secondary teaching certification and wish to add an ENL (English as New Language) endorsement.  Please note that this minor alone will not fulfill the requirements to teach in the State of Idaho. Students wishing to pursue teaching licensure should contact the College of Idaho Education Department.
