Department Overview
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at CCSU is professionally accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world's largest scientific society. We offer degree tracks in both chemistry and biochemistry--including paths to ACS certified degrees--and a minor in chemistry. Our graduates typically enter Ph.D. programs, professional programs (such as medical school), or the chemical industry. Unlike at large schools, where undergraduates typically work for a graduate student, our students work directly with faculty on original research projects. The majority of these students give presentations at regional or national conferences, and many have co-authored peer-reviewed publications.
