Summer Strivers

The Summer Strivers Pilot Program for 2018 offers first-time college students who have been denied admission to Texas Wesleyan University the opportunity to earn admission through an eight-week summer program (pending sufficient enrollment). A Striver who earns a grade of "C" or higher in English Composition (ENG-1301) and in an additional General Education Curriculum course over the summer will be fully admitted without having to reapply to the University.

Courses are offered in a modified Summer Extended term of eight weeks in length. Classes meet for 75 minutes per day, Monday through Thursday, and the final exam period is at the end of the eighth week.

Note: Students who score a 4 or a 5 with essay scores below 80 (Accuplacer) or 350 (TSI) would enter the ENG-1301 plus tutorial lab program. Students who score below this threshold will not be able to enroll in the program.
