What is Financial Aid?

Financial aid is the assistance available to help a student meet educational expenses. This assistance is provided by federal, state, institutional, or private sources and may consist of grants, scholarships, loans or work-study. Qualified students may be offered combinations of the various types of aid or aid from a single source. Most forms of aid are based on an individual's financial need, college costs, enrollment status, and the availability of funds.
