Program Description:A student in this program will develop a basic foundation in chemical and nuclear techniques, mathematics, liberal arts, and use of computers. Courses in chemistry and nuclear chemistry will provide techniques and knowledge for success in a career as a technician. Protocols, safety, and quality control will be emphasized throughout the program.
Employment Opportunities: Graduates could be employed in a number of fields including nuclear facilities, governmental organizations, research labs, environmental labs, quality control, and chemical production. Employment of nuclear technicians is projected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations, although employment change will vary by specialty.
