Admission Procedures
To be accepted, prospective students must complete the following:
- Submit a completed online application for admission and the required fee. If mailing the application, send a check or money order made payable to Augusta Technical College.
- Request that an official transcript, including graduation date which has met the attendance, academic, and/or assessment requirements for the state’s board of education, or equivalent agency, or a state-authorized examination the state recognizes as the equivalent of a high school diploma be sent to the Office of Student Records at the Augusta campus.
- Applicants who have successfully completed (C or better) a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours at the degree level may submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges accredited by an accepted accrediting agency in lieu of a high school diploma or a state-authorized examination the state recognizes as the equivalent of a high school diploma as described above.
- Secondary schools must be accredited by an agency included on the TCSG approved accreditation agency list.
- Students with diplomas from secondary schools located outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated for equivalency by an approved outside evaluation organization.
- High school diplomas from unaccredited institutions, Certificates of Attendance or other certificates, credentials or other documents where the student did not complete all required coursework or testing required for a high school diploma in that state are not recognized for admission purposes.
- Official college transcripts from prior colleges, universities, technical schools, and/or other postsecondary institutions are not required for acceptance into the college. For non-competitive programs, prospective students may request their official transcripts to be sent to Augusta Technical College from prior colleges, universities, technical schools, and/or other postsecondary institutions if they are seeking transfer credit. Also, if the student has requested to be ranked for a competitive health program all transcripts that reflect attempted college credits must be submitted. Veterans may submit a copy of Joint Services Transcript (JST) to verify courses taken in the military. Transcript request forms and HSE test score request forms are available in Student Services at all campus locations. Note: in some circumstances, all college transcripts may be required for Financial Aid purposes.
- Report for ACCUPLACER Next Generation testing if scheduled. Testing will not be required for students who have submitted acceptable official test scores from a recognized admissions placement test (ACCUPLACER, ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT), have been awarded appropriate transfer college credit for English and/or math, have submitted a GED score report that reflects a minimum of 145 on the GED, have a HOPE GPA of 2.6 or higher after the 10th grade, or have submitted an official transcript reflecting a student has earned an associates degree or higher.
