Program Description: This program prepares the students with classroom training and practice as well as the clinical experiences necessary to care for patients in various settings including general medical and surgical hospitals, nursing care facilities, community care facilities for the elderly, and home health care services. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment program (NNAAP) which determines competency to become in the State nurse aide registry.
Employment Opportunities: Graduates are in demand for employment in nursing homes, home health agencies, and hospitals. Georgia State Law requires nursing homes to perform background checks on prospective employees to determine prior offenses and/or felonies.
