MAT 312 Business Statistics
This course introduces the student to the scientific method of collecting, organizing, and interpreting quantitative data, specifically for business applications. Topics include classification of variables; sampling methods; visualization of data; measures of central tendency, dispersion, and position; normal, student’s t, chi-square, and F distributions, confidence intervals for means and proportions, hypothesis testing for means, proportions, goodness of fit, and test of association; regression and correlation. ANOVA will be introduced. The use of Microsoft Excel is required for this course.
Prerequisite
MAT 205 or MAT 122 with a minimum grade of "C" or College of Business completion degree candidate.
