ART 101 Art Appreciation 1
Art Appreciation is an introduction to the fundamental elements and mediums of the visual arts. Throughout this course, students will learn how to identify and discuss the formal elements of art (line, space, color, motion, pattern, texture, balance, focal point, scale, repetition, and unity) by examining works of art from various movements encompassing the Renaissance to Modern Art. Students will also gain a foundational knowledge of various artistic mediums that include: drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, performance art, architecture, and art as craft.
