ANI 400 2D Animation II

In this course, students will explore the art of shot composition, utilizing perspective and other traditional design principles to craft compelling visual narratives. Through focused study of staging, posing, and animating action in a sequential layout, students will learn how to create dynamic, story-driven animations that align with the objectives of a script. They will develop the skills to rough, block, and refine 2D shots in sequence, mastering the techniques needed to visually communicate emotion, movement, and storytelling through animation. With their understanding of 2D animation, they will work with industry-leading software to bring their creative ideas to life. This course builds upon the foundational techniques covered in ANI 200: 2D Animation I, expanding students' ability to tell powerful stories through movement and composition, whether for short sequences or more complex animated works.
