ANI 210 Storyboarding

In this course, students will explore the art and techniques of storyboarding. Storyboarding is a vital step in the production pipeline, where visual storytelling and narrative structure are developed before designing the first frame. Through a series of projects, students will learn to translate scripts and concepts into a sequence of captivating images, focusing on shot composition, pacing, and character movement. The course will cover the principles of visual storytelling, including composition, camera angles, staging, and timing, while emphasizing the importance of conveying mood, emotion, and narrative flow.

Students will gain practical experience creating storyboards from traditional workflows. Industry-standard software will be used to create professional-quality storyboards. Throughout the course, students will receive feedback from the instructor and peers, refining their work to meet industry expectations. By the end of the course, students will have developed a strong storyboard portfolio that demonstrates their ability to visually narrate complex stories and bring ideas to life on screen.
