RNBSN 245 Contemporary Issues in Professional Nursing

This course promotes self awareness in response to change through examination and reflection of personal and professional values and to introduce the professional nurse responsibilities of a baccalaureate prepared nurse. This course will explore and analyze theories and propositions from social, psychological, medical, nursing, and interpersonal relations as a foundation to understanding research, practice, and scholarship in nursing. Included are topics such as patient education and care transitions, ethical and legal issues in health care, United States and global diversity, quality and safety, evidence based practice, clinical judgment, and informatics.
