RNBSN 213 Role of Nurse Manager

The course examines the key roles and functions of the nurse manager in today's rapidly changing health care system. The twin competencies of leadership and management, as they pertain to the nurse manager role, are explored in depth. Concepts such as motivation, morale, human resource management, information technology, health and safety, difficult employee situations, and a variety of other topics are addressed. This course encourages students to develop themselves as as nurse managers through the use of reflection, discussion and the development of creative strategies. New skills will be developed that allow the nurse manager to produce positive outcomes in the work environment.
