PH 261 Introduction to Public Health Promotion

Public Health recognizes that the health of the individual can collectively affect the overall health of the public. This course will explore public health promotion concepts, constructs, theoretical frameworks, and models commonly used to develop and promote health intrapersonal, interpersonally, at the community, public and institutional levels. We will examine the history of the U.S health system and identify behavioral, environmental, and socio-economic factors that impact our health choices and behaviors. Students are encouraged to study promotion programs and will have the opportunity to present their findings in class.
