AST 240 Black Intellectuals and Entrepreneurs

This course examines the Black political economy from slavery through the 20th century. Students explore the link between race, labor/business, and politics through the works of leading Black intellectuals such as Du Bois and Washington as well as successful entrepreneurs like Madam C.J. Walker or on Tulsa’s “Black Wall Street.”
