IS4300 Project Management for Enterprise Systems

The objective of this course is to educate the student in areas of great concern to the DoD in the field of IT project management to include software engineering and risk management. The course examines both the technological tools of software production as well as the software engineering techniques for software project management. Software testing, metrics, and reliability are also covered. DoD software standards and metrics programs are included.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Apply organizing principles to manage staffing and conflict resolution in project management.
  • Develop a project budget, schedule and determine its expected duration using CPM and PERT principles.
  • Comprehend the tools that are used in different phases of project development from the requirements analysis step through project review.
  • Apply and learn Microsoft Project and Office 365 applications that are relevant to project management.
