- Explain the goals, benefits, and uses of assessment.
- Describe the benefit of active learning for young children.
- Understand positive relationships and supportive interactions are the foundation of our work with young children.
- Build a repertoire of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and classroom management techniques in early childhood and special education.
- Build understanding of content knowledge in language and literacy; creative arts; social and emotional development; mathematics; science, physical development; and social studies.
- Explain the importance of executive function in the development of young children.

Assessment Strategy Narrative
A variety of formative and summative assessments will be used to assess the student learning outcomes for this course. Additionally, at the end of the program, students will complete a National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) exam in the area of Early Childhood Education to meet program learning outcomes.
