III. Catalog Course Description

A study in the theory and application of CSI and ANSI standards used to describe the size of an object portrayed in a completed view(s). Traditional drafting techniques are used to apply the lessons.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Create properly dimensioned multiviews according to ANSI standards
  • Create properly dimensioned pictorial views (isometric) to accepted standards
  • Identify and apply dimensioning techniques through coordinate, tabular, ordinate, and direct application(s)
  • Apply dimensional units in decimal inch, metric, and fractional inch systems
  • Apply local and general notes
  • Define and apply tolerancing using limit tolerances and plus/minus tolerancing through local and general techniques
  • Setup AutoCAD dimension tools to CSI standards using DIMSTYLE and MULTILEADERSTYLE along with appropriate variables
