This course includes the principles of leadership in ECE, advocacy for children, and intentional teaching with reflective practices. This course requires Idaho Health and Welfare enhanced background check, pediatric first aid/CPR, TB, and immunization clearance.

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Demonstrates understanding of principles of leadership through research experience in the classroom and self-reflection.
  • Develops research projects regarding advocacy for children.
  • Prepares integrated lesson plans with minimal support from Lab Facilitator.
  • Understands strategies and importance of building relationships with peers.
  • Explain concepts of universal design at developmental levels ages 3-5.
  • Conduct assessments at an individual and program level.
