III. Catalog Course Description
This course requires increasing levels of demonstration of curriculum design during teaching days, child evaluation and family conference and increased reflection skills on performance teaching Labs or instructor permission for offsite cohort. This course requires Idaho Health and Welfare enhanced background check, pediatric first aid/CPR, TB, and immunization clearance.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Complete child assessment with completed anecdotes for physical development, sensory learning, science and technology, and creative arts.
- Research advocacy for children and design activities to support local community advocacy projects.
- Design head teaching day lesson plans to integrate two of the topics and teaching strategies. (4 head teaching days.)
- Prepare child portfolio for focus child and facilitate parent conference.
- Prepare self-reflective portfolio demonstrating concepts learned in Practicums and Curriculums.

Assessment Strategy Narrative
A variety of formative and summative assessments will be used to assess the student learning outcomes for this course. Additionally, at the end of the program, students will complete a National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) exam in the area of Early Childhood Education to meet program learning outcomes.
