The course introduces students to the concepts, tools, and techniques used in Total Quality Management, quality cultures, effective team structures, measurement of quality productivity, and competitiveness in an industrial environment.

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the key components and challenges of total quality management (TQM) and understand how organizations approach TQM deployment.
  • Differentiate between quality assurance and quality control.
  • Explain the concept of a global supply chain and the impact of blockchain technology on global supply chains.
  • Apply simple moving average and exponential smoothing models.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving with the use of quality controls to assess an organization’s operational paradigm.
  • Demonstrate the value of understanding effective communication and behavioral styles.
