This course will provide the student with an understanding of cost concepts, cost behavior, and cost accounting techniques as it applies to manufacturing cost systems. The student learns the principles and procedures of job order costing, process costing, and standard costs.

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Use rations to analyze financial statement and articulate in writing what the analysis means.
  • Accurately prepare statement of cash flows
  • Demonstrate how to create various reports managers use to evaluate revenue and costs
  • Demonstrate how to create department level financial reports and articulate in writing what the report means.
  • Journal and post financial information specific to manufacturing businesses
