POE-237 Middle East and North Africa Survey
A study of political economy and change in North Africa and the Middle East since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. The recurring themes of the revolutions (Arab Spring), Islam and politics, oil and gas, and the tussle between modernity and ancient values will be examined.
