REL-390 China:Change and Continuity in Philosophy and Religion

A study of the status of philosophy and religion in contemporary China. This course will focus on the transformations of the classical religious and philosophical traditions of China-Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and folk religions-over the past two decades, and the emerging role of "foreign" traditions-Islam, christianity and Western philosophy. (same as PHI-390) Corequisite: HIS-390
