ENGL 398 Feminist Media Studies

Examines how feminist theorists attempted to both critique and recreate gendered media forms. Focuses on the origins of the discipline of feminist media studies and its contemporary applications. Theoretical frameworks include: critical race theory, queer theory, marxism and cultural studies, celebrity and stardom, crip theory and disability studies, feminist documentary, lesbian cinema, and media industry studies.
