ENGL 221 The Critical Lens: Introduction to Film and Media Theory

Critical Lens introduces students to key authors, debates, texts, and practices in film and media theory. We explore narrative, semiotics, apparatus, psychoanalysis, schizoanalysis, reception, and affect at their intersections with critical theories and methods that center race, disability, indigeneity, sexuality, class, and gender.
