BIO-376 Neurophysiology
This course serves as an introduction to the
structure and function of the nervous system.
Topics include neurodevelopment, gross
organization of the brain and spinal cord,
biophysical properties of excitable cells,
synaptic transmission, the processing of sensory
information, motor control, and higher cognitive
functions such as learning and memory. Laboratory
studies include comparative neuroanatomy, the
molecular and cellular basis of behavior in
invertebrates, and neurophysiology.
Prerequisite: BIO-330
Corequisites: BIO-376L
Prerequisite
BIO-330 must be completed prior to registering for this
course.
Corequisite
BIO-376L must be taken concurently with this course.
