HPR 591 Research Methods in Health Education

This provides an overview of the qualitative and quantitative methods commonly used in health education and reviews critical elements of various designs and issues in research. This course prepares the student to: access and interpret research publications; critically engage in discussions of published articles; differentiate between common study designs; integrate health behavior theory into studies; conduct common statistical analyses used in health education; and develop practical evidence-based research-related skills. Prerequisites: HPR 501, HPR 540, and HPR 555. (3)
