GRN 8106 Healthcare QI and Systems Thinking

This course examines core quality, safety, and systems thinking competencies for nurses in advanced practice roles.  Contemporary performance/quality improvement methodologies, data reporting, and evaluation of evidence-based quality health care practices for patient populations (individuals and aggregates) will be presented. Students will examine theory and organizational science concepts to assess organizational culture, analyze data, and translate findings to drive transformative system changes. Thirty-five experiential engagement hours are included from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
