GRN 8103 Epidemiology and Population Health

This course will examine the role of epidemiology in population health and advanced nursing practice including prevention strategies, healthcare quality measures, diversity principles, and patient safety considerations.  Students will learn epidemiologic principles in data interpretation and apply descriptive and analytical epidemiological methods to vulnerable populations. A community-based collaborative action research project enables students to explore community, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic dimensions of care. Twenty experiential engagement hours aligned with the AACN Domains are required.
