LIT 135E The Historical Imaginary

A survey of historical literature in the Americas that examines fictional attempts to re-imagine New World histories. Readings focus on secret or mangled histories, the legacies of slavery and colonialism, gendered critiques of national histories, and U.S. imperialism.
