Explores the relationship between science and pseudoscience from a cognitive psychological perspective, including discussion of collection and selection of data, statistical assessment of data, cognitive illusions, memory distortions, reasoning, and decision-making. Also highlights the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Satisfies seminar requirement. Satisfies the senior seminar requirement. Satisfies the senior comprehensive requirement. Prerequisite(s): satisfaction of Entry Level Writing and Composition requirements and PSYC 100. Enrollment is restricted to senior psychology and cognitive science majors.
