SW 483 Cognitive Behavioral Approaches and Treatment

]The objective of this 3-credit course is to provide a working knowledge of the basic principles and specific techniques of a contemporary multimodal approach to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), with consideration of its integration with other therapeutic approaches such as mindfulness-based stress reduction. Issues presented include depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, phobias, psychosis, personality disorders, and substance use. Particular attention is paid to applying CBT to practice with diverse populations. This course meets the requirement for a clinical practice elective.
